ELSA
ELSA (The European Law Students’ Association) is an apolitical, non-profitable, open, internationally and multilingually oriented association aiming at a broad understanding of the cultural diversity of its members, who are able to directly gain valuable experience based on foreign legal systems and business practices. In combination with the curriculum of the universities ELSA prepares its members for their future careers and enter the labour market with the emphasis on working in an international environment.
ELSA Ljubljana offers its members a variety of academic and professional events and projects which enable law students and young lawyers to acquire new knowledge at home and abroad, getting to know law in practice and networking with law students and young lawyers at an international level. Among other things, members have the possibility to participate in STEP practices, allowing them to gain work experience with different employers in the legal field abroad. Through its activities, thanks to law students who were willing to make an effort and work in their spare time, it is expanding, developing and became a synonymous of awareness of a fair world in which human rights and cultural diversity are respected, and integration of law students from European countries made possible,
What ELSA Ljubljana offers its members:
- An international meeting of law students,
- Study visits,
- Summer and Winter ELSA Law schools,
- Moot court competitions,
- STEP (Student Exchange Programme traineeship)
- Conferences, seminars and round table discussions with persons who are professionally engaged in law
- ELSA DAY (round tables, film viewings, discussions ...)
- Informal gatherings with representatives of law firms,
- Traditional professional seminar,
- Participation in the Days of lawyers, Days of civil law, Days of mediation
- Visits to institutions,
- other activities.
