Call for Special Issue

Ljubljana Law Review (LLR) is a peer-reviewed, open access scientific journal that publishes articles from all fields of law. It is independent, published by the Faculty of Law at the University of Ljubljana, and indexed in, among others, Index to Foreign Legal Periodicals, Directory of Open Access Journals, Social Sciences Research Network, and Proquest. It has existed continuously under its Slovenian name, Zbornik znanstvenih razprav since 1921.

LLR is looking to develop itself into a platform where scholars can present the fruits of their collective efforts, workshops and projects. In addition to regular yearly issues, we plan every year to publish a special issue and we are therefore thrilled to present our Call for Proposals for a Special Issue.

We welcome proposals stemming from all fields of law, as well as interdisciplinary projects with a legal dimension. A special issue should consist of 8-15 scholarly articles and an editorial/introductory text written by the guest editor(s). The language of the special issue is English.

Your proposal should consist of:

● (Working) Title of the special issue;
● Name(s), title(s), affiliation(s) and contact information of the guest editor(s);
● Short description of the special issue (up to 1 page), including information on what kind of a project will be presented in the special issues (papers from a workshop or conference panel, results of research project etc.), the overarching idea of the special issue connecting all papers and methodological approaches;
●  List of planned contributions, with names, titles and affiliations of (co)authors and (working) titles;
●  A tentative timeline of preparation of articles and submission.

We welcome proposals for a special issue that would stem from projects that are currently ongoing or were completed in 2021 or will be completed in the first half of 2022, with a view of submission by the end of June 2022 the latest. We also encourage expressions of interest, on a rolling basis, from scholars who plan to complete their projects and submit articles later than June 2022, as they may be considered for the 2023 special issue.

The decision on the selection of the special issue will be made by the editorial board. The decision will be reached no later than by May 31 2022. In making its decision, the editorial board will take into consideration originality and quality of the project, coherence of the special issue, and diversity of authors. We encourage early career scholars to submit.

The special issue will be published open access on the website of the journal and in print and may be freely distributed on-line immediately. Authors and guest editors will receive print copies of the special issue. The publication of the special issue will be announced on the LLR social media profiles and channels. No fees will be charged or paid by the LLR.

Guest editors will be responsible for timely submission and conformity with the review style guidelines and quality standards of the LLR. The LLR will provide the publication framework (formatting, language review, etc.).

Please send your proposals to luka.misic@pf.uni-lj.si (Editor-In-Chief) by April 4 2022.
