Central European Law Conference for students in Slovenia

Due to insufficient number of paper proposals that arrived by 30 November 2015, the programme board has decided to prolong the time for making proposals till 30 December 2015. This does not apply for Session 1 (courts) and Session 2 (migration); in these two sessions we have received more applications than we can accept. In all other session places are still open for application.

Between 31 March and 2 April 2016 Faculty of Law University of Maribor (Slovenia) will host the Central European Law Conference for Students (CELCOS). It will be the first large international student event in the region of Central and South-eastern Europe to reflect the current issues of EU law. It will be a new way of broadening the students’ knowledge of EU law, accentuating excellence in presentation and argumentation.

It is foreseen that over 50 students from the region of Central and South-eastern Europe and close to 30 leading experts from universities, national and EU institutions (for the list of experts that have already confirmed participation at the conference see: http://celcos.eu/expert-panels/) will gather to discuss the present challenges facing the EU legal system and its future.

The organiser of the conference will cover a two night stay, including breakfast, for all the invited speakers in a hotel in Maribor. Two social events will be organised at the cost of the organiser. The latter will also take care of snacks and water during conference breaks. Standard travelling costs will also be reimbursed by the organiser.

All invited speakers will receive a certificate of appreciation for their cooperation at the conference. Expert panels will select the best speaker in each Session and award them with special certificates and book prizes.
