3. MUNLawS Student Conference at the Faculty of Law
The Faculty of Law is organizing between October 23 – 26, 2015 its third student conference and competition in the simulation of decision-making procedures before the bodies of The United Nations and other international organizations – MUNLawS conference. MUNLawS conference is the largest such Model United Nations student conference in Slovenia and for the second year also supported by the NATO. More than 200 students from around the world and Slovenia will discuss topical themes in the areas of diplomacy, international law and international relations, while improving their negotiation and rhetoric skills in 7 different committees: Security Council, Human Rights Council, Economic and Social Council, NATO, International Court of Justice, International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea and Permanent Court of Arbitration.
With this conference we also wish to mark the 70. Anniversary of the United Nations at the Faculty of Law and are thus organizing as part of the conference in cooperation with the United Nations Association for Slovenia on Monday, October 26, 2015 a special roundtable addressing the right to veto as a potential obstacle to a more effective functioning of the Security Council in situations that require action under the Responsibility to Protect concept.
