Maša Kovič Dine is an Assistant Professor at the Department of International Law. After completing her Master's degree at the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto (Canada), she joined the G7 Research Group at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto as a research fellow, and then as an Assistant Professor at the Department of International Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana, where she also completed her PhD studies. Her research focuses on international environmental law, climate change law and the law of the sea. In the winter semester of 2023, she was a guest lecturer at the School of Law, University of Miami (USA), and she is also a regular guest lecturer in the Transnational Environmental Law course at the Faculty of Law, University of Antwerp (Belgium). In 2022, she was a research fellow at the Centre for Studies and Research at the Hague Academy of International Law. She is involved in a number of international and national research projects and between 2019 and 2021 she was the project leader of the targeted research project entitled Barriers to a decent life for residents in Roma settlements in the areas defined in the EU Framework for National Roma Inclusion Strategies up to 2020. As a co-mentor, she runs the International Environmental Law Clinic and prepares student teams for the All-European International Humanitarian and Refugee Law Moot Court Competition, Jean-Pictet Competition, International Criminal Law Moot Court Competition and Stetson International Environmental Law Moot Court Competition. She has also participated as a judge in these competitions on several occasions. She leads various student research projects. She coordinates of a series of international scientific conferences entitled Contemporary Challenges of International Environmental Law and Responsibility to Protect in Theory and Practice. She is a member and Secretary of the International Law Association for Slovenia (ILA), Vice President of the United Nations Association for Slovenia and a member of the European Society of International Law (ESIL), the World Commission on Environmental Law of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), where she is also a member of the Rights of Nature Task Force.
