Peter Grilc

Peter Grilc is a Full Professor of Commercial, Civil and European Law at the Department of Civil Law, Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana. During his career, he has been involved with the following professional or academic programs and has held the following positions: Graduate of the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana (1985), postgraduate course Law of International Commercial Transactions (1986), Directorate General for Competition Law of the Commission of the EC (1987; internship), Institute of Private International Law, The Hague (1987, course and practice in the field of international law), Magister Iuris University of Ljubljana (1990, Franchise contract), Istituto Universitario Europeo, Florence (1990; postgraduate course in EC law and human rights), Europa Instituut Amsterdam (1992, 1993, 1995, 1997; visiting researcher; EU law), Juristenforum Krems (1992, 1993; postgraduate course / commercial law, tax law), PhD University of Ljubljana (1993; complex contracts of autonomous commercial law), Kingston University, UK (1995; Community law and Common law), Max Planck Institut, Munich (1996; researcher, competition law), 1996; Nottingham University, University of Edinburgh (1997), Dean; Faculty of Law, Ljubljana (2010-2014), member of the Selection Committee for the selection of the first members of the EU Civil Service Tribunal. 

He worked as a legal advisor (Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia), Directorate General for EU Competition Law, Brussels (intern), researcher at the Faculty of Law in Ljubljana, now full professor of civil law, primarily focusing on EU law, commercial law and international commercial law. He has been working in the field of commercial and international commercial law as a consultant, expert. Active in the field of arbitration dispute resolution, among others as a member of the Permanent Arbitration of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, Chairman of the Permanent Arbitration of the Triglav Insurance Company (Slovenia), Chairman of the Honorary Arbitral Tribunals of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia; president of the panel of the Appeals Body of the Slovenian Anti-Doping Organisation (SLOADO), member of the Arbitral Tribunal of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange, member of the Arbitral Tribunal of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange; Member / President of the Ad Hoc Arbitral Tribunals / ICC, President of the Arbitral Tribunals and sole arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Lausanne, CH); Ad Hoc Arbitration in International and National Commercial Matters, Member of the ICSID List (two terms), Member of the Ad Hoc Arbitral Tribunal for EU Investment Disputes. Member of the editorial boards of law journals, President of the International Nuclear Law Association (INLA, Brussels, 2003-2005).
