SEMINAR ON AUSTRIAN LAW

Seminar topic: Österreichische und europäische Rechtsterminologie anhand aktueller Rechtsfragen

The seminar will be led by:

• Dr. Claudia Rudolf (University of Vienna),
• Dr. Philipp Klausberger (University of Innsbruck),
• DDr. Christoph Schmetterer (Martin Luther University Halle-Saale), and
• Dr. Žiga Škorjanc (University of Vienna).

The seminar will be held in German from Monday, 15 September to Friday, 19 September 2025 (inclusive), at the Faculty of Law in Ljubljana (Poljanski nasip 2), every day from 8:30 to 12:30.

This seminar is aimed at lawyers and non-lawyers, in particular at court translators for German. It will address various legal and terminological issues in the field of civil law.

The following topics will be covered:

• Rechtsprobleme bei Rechtsgemeinschaften
• Struktur und Terminologie des österreichischen und deutschen Familienrechts
• 10 Jahre EuErbVO – eine Erfolgsgeschichte?
• Die erbrechtliche Position der Lebensgefährten im österreichischen Recht
• Rechtsfragen im Umgang mit digitalen Vermögenswerten: Aktuelle Entwicklungen und Herausforderungen

Credit points for participation in the seminar: 2 ECTS

Participation fee:

• €40 for registrations received before 11 July 2025, and €60 for registrations received after this date.
• Students pay €25 before 11 July 2025, or €35 after that date.
