Welcome day for International students

On Monday, September 16, 2026 at 1 pm CEST, we are hosting a special online International student welcome day.

The event is an opportunity to get first-hand useful information about studying at the University of Ljubljana and living in Slovenia. You will receive information on health insurance, temporary residence permit, accommodation, subsidised meals, local transport, Year Plus, University of Ljubljana Career Centres, tutors, extracurricular and other activities.

The presentations will be held in English. If you would like to participate in the online event, please register by filling out THIS FORM. We will accept registrations until all places are taken or until September 15, 2026. We will send you a link to follow the event to your email address.

We put a high value on ensuring that each international student has a smooth and easiest integration into life in Slovenia and their studies, and removing obstacles associated with acquiring a residence permit is undoubtedly one of the challenges at this road.
 
Therefore, we will arrange a review of the documentation for your residence permits along with our International Student Ambassadors, and a special desk at the Administrative Unit Ljubljana.
 
Together with Administrative Unit Ljubljana, we decided on a Special Desk for our international students from September 22 to October 9. Our International Student Ambassadors will greet you each working day during that time, offer guidance for submitting paperwork to apply for a residence permit. The Administrative Unit will anticipate that you have all the necessary paperwork on hand, have completed the application form, and intend to submit the required paperwork for your residence permit that same day.

We advise you to go to the documentation review before applying, because only in this way you will be sure that you have applied on time and with all the necessary documentation, and in this way you will do everything you can to make the process go as quickly as possible. The reviewing of the documentation and filled application forms will take place at the UL Faculty of Arts, Tobačna ulica 5, for 10 working days in the period from September 22 to October 9. The information about the exact dates of the documentation review are published on this website. International Student Ambassadors will be there to help you.
