Bardutzkys Samo

Samo Bardutzky is Associate Professor of Constitutional Law. Previously, he was a doctoral researcher at the University of Ljubljana, where he defended his doctoral thesis, and Fulbright Research Scholar at the University of Michigan Law School. Between 2013 and 2017, he was Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Kent Law School where he worked on an ERC project on the Role of National Constitutions in European and Global Governance. While at Kent, Samo was also Teaching Fellow in EU Law at the SOAS School of Law for a semester. Samo was the coordinator of the Jean Monnet module on “Migration and Refugee Law in Europe” and principal investigator of “Judicial Selection under Scrutiny” (JUDGMERIT), a three-year research project financed by the Slovenian Research Agency. Samo passed the state law exam in 2009 and after that worked as a legal advisor to the Slovenian Ministry of Justice. He has also served on the Board of the Slovenian chapter of Transparency International. In 2023, he was appointed to the State Prosecutorial Council of the Republic of Slovenia.
