Department of Criminal Law
About the department
The Department of Criminal Law focuses on teaching and research in the fields of criminal and procedural criminal law and associated subjects. Its members contribute to legislative drafting, publish scholarly articles, and participate in conferences both domestically and internationally. The department is dedicated to educating future legal professionals and advancing the development of criminal law in Slovenia and beyond.
The Department of Criminal Law provides the following courses at the undergraduate and the master’s level: Criminal Law, Procedural Criminal Law, Law of Implementation of Criminal Sanctions, Criminology, Protection of Privacy in Criminal Proceedings, Law of Minor Offences, Medical Criminal Law and Forensic Medicine, Economic Criminal Law, International Criminal Law, Criminal Law and Protection of Human Rights, Criminal Law and Procedure, Criminal Investigation, Law and Psychology, and Sexual Criminal Law. In the doctoral study program, the department also offers the courses: Criminal law - National and Comparative Legal Aspects, Criminal Procedural Law - National and Comparative Legal Aspects, Evidentiary Criminal Law, Economic Criminal Law, EU Criminal Law, International Criminal Law, Juvenile Criminal law, Legal Aspects of Implementation of Criminal Sanctions, Psychology and Criminal Law, Criminology, and Therapeutic Intervention in Criminology.
